OMAHA, NE – After a summer off, the Dave Matthews Band is back on the road on their North American tour with 16 Clay Paky Sharpy fixtures in the rig. Longtime LD Fenton Williams  specified the fixtures to replace the ACL-type fixtures used in the past. Lighting supplier is  Theatrical Media Services Inc.

LOS ANGELES – For the first time in approximately 20 years, the Shakespeare Center of Los Angeles (SCLA) returned to the Japanese Garden on the grounds of the VA West Los Angeles Healthcare Center campus with their summer production of As You Like It, directed by Royal Shakespeare Company artist Kenn Sabberton. The Center chose the location partly because Artistic Director Ben Donenberg remembered the beauty of the space when they performed there in the early 1990s, but also as a continuation of their work to make Shakespeare vital for everyone—in this case, veterans.

HOUSTON — Jeremy Choate, a lighting designer based here, who was known for distinctive designs for theatrical and dance performances, died Aug. 12 after being struck by a car while stopped at an intersection on his motorcycle. News reports said that the driver of the vehicle left the scene on foot before police arrived. Police have identified the driver as Shannon Garcia, 25, and were conducting a search for her whereabouts.
