Behind the Scenes Holiday Cards for 2012 Announced

NEW YORK – The 2012 Behind the Scenes Holiday Cards have been announced. Created by a lineup of lighting designers including John Lee Beatty, Michael Curry, Ralph Funicello, Andrew Hefter, Cindy White and David Zinn, proceeds from card orders benefit the ESTA Foundation’s Behind the Scenes program. Orders will be taken until Sept. 7 so that cards can be delivered by early November.

Parnelli Lifetime Achievement Honor Goes to Charlie Hernandez

LAS VEGAS — “Are you sure you have the right guy?” replied a stunned Charlie Hernandez upon getting the call from Parnelli Awards executive producer Terry Lowe and executive director Patrick Stansfield. The Parnelli Board of Advisors has announced that Hernandez, production manager and founder of the nonprofit charity organization, Just a Bunch of Roadies, will receive the live event industry’s highest honor, the Parnelli Lifetime Achievement Award, this October at a gala dinner in Las Vegas.

LIVERPOOL, UK – ADLIB supplied lighting and rigging equipment plus crew to comedian/ventriloquist Jeff Dunham on his “Controlled Chaos” Tour. Dunham was lit in white throughout, while the stage was washed in a variety of different colors, coded according to which of the five ‘characters’ was acting out the scene with him.

Drape Kings Roll Out 4.3 Miles of Carpet for Bike Expo

NORTH BERGEN, NJ – In less than 10 hours, Drake Kings installed more than 7,700 yards (equaling 4.3 miles) of event carpet and Astro Turf for the recent Bike Expo New York. They also set up 96 trade show booths while lining the perimeter of the expo with 500 feet of event drape. It took two months of planning to pull off the event set-up.
