A.C.T Lighting, the distributor of Clay Paky lighting instruments in North America, finalized the sale of 26 fixtures for the La Mirada, CA company. ShotLight Wash combines a 1500W discharge lamp washlight with two 1500w strobes in one device.

NEW YORK — If it’s New Years Eve and Phish is performing, you can be sure of one thing: Something unexpected is going to happen. In 2010, it was Jon Fishman, shot from a cannon in Miami. In 2011, it was the International Meatstick flash mob. In 2012, it started with a steaming tea kettle, then moved to aerialists disguised as fans, plucked from the crowd and hoisted 45 feet high, performing amid smoke, balloons and a random speaker cabinet. Behind the gag were scenic designer David Gallo, Phish/Red Light Management, production manager Hadden Hippsely, Zenith Pyro, Square Root Studios, Tait Towers and Tait’s flight director, Paul Sapsis.

NEW YORK – WorldStage provided AV support for an innovative installation in New York City’s six-acre Madison Square Park, where Dutch artist Jacco Olivier’s stop-motion animations brighten the park’s winter landscape. Olivier’s images of birds, a deer, a frog, a beetle and flora are seamlessly integrated into the outdoors, displayed on screens suspended from trees, hidden in the bushes and planted in the ground. On display in both the park’s heavily trafficked areas and quieter spots, the exhibit runs until March.
