The Stage Managers’ Association Announces 2023 Del Hughes Awards for Lifetime Achievement in the Art of Stage Management

The Del Hughes Award, The Founders Award & Special Recognition Honorees 2023 Top: Del Hughes Honorees John M. The Stage Managers’ Association (SMA) has announced its annual Del Hughes Awards for Lifetime Achievement in the Art of Stage Management. The distinguished 2023 honorees are theatrical production stage managers John M. Atherlay and Gwen Gilliam, and opera production stage manager Brett Finley. Broadway Theaters Dimmed Lights in Memory of Award-Winning Scenic Designer Robin Wagner

The Broadway community honored the memory of Robin Wagner, the triple Tony Award®-winning scenic designer who worked on more than 60 Broadway shows in a career that spanned over five decades. Mr. Wagner passed away on May 29, 2023, at the age of 89. Student Designers Appraise Elation Lighting on Yale’s Carlotta Festival

In partnership with dry-hire rental house Main Light, Elation Professional provided Fuze MAX™ series moving head luminaires to David Geffen School of Drama at Yale for use on the school’s annual Carlotta Festival, which showcases plays written, directed, acted and designed by students. The Carlotta Festival features three fully produced new plays by graduating playwrights performed in rotating repertory. The plays presented in this year’s festival, which ran May 5–12 at the Iseman Theatre, included littleboy/littleman by Rudi Goblen (directed by Jacob Basri); Furlough’s Paradise by a.k. payne (directed by Leyla Levi); and Color Boy by Esperanza Rosales Balcárcel (directed by Jecamiah M.
