MANCHESTER, UK – dbn Lighting supplied lighting design and equipment – including trussing and all necessary rigging – to the main stage at the 2011 Ramsbottom Festival. dbn’s Nick Buckley designed the three-day event which included acts such as The Waterboys.

PARIS, France – Belgian LD Francis Mannaert is currently using Philips Vari-Lite VL3000 Spot and Wash Luminaires to set the scene for the National Opera of Ukraine’s touring ballet, set to the music of Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana. The production is playing across France.

MANNHEIM, Germany – Coolux Pandoras Box products were called in to help the city celebrate the 125th anniversary of Karl Benz’s modern automobile. (He received the first patent in 1886 for a gas-fueled car.) The “Autosymphonic” event combined live music, an orchestra, 80 cars used as instruments on stage, water fountains and architectural projections onto a local landmark.

MALMO, Sweden – LD Mikki Kunttu chose Martin Professional’s MAC III Performance luminaires on Malmo Opera’s current production of “Les Miserables.”  “It’s perfect for the high contrast looks needed in this production,” he said. The show runs to February 2012.

MASCOT, Australia -Australia’s second series of the reality competition TV show, X Factor, uses a similar set to the first series, but with the addition of 28 Vari*Lite VLXWash lights. It is the first time LD Ian Anderson has used LED sources as a main workhorse in the rig.
