Lighting Display Marks 150 Years Since the Start of the U.S. Civil War

CHARLESTON, SC — The Lowcountry Civil War Sesquicentennial Commemoration, in association with the Fort Sumter-Fort Moultrie Historical Trust, recently marked 150 years since the first cannonball was fired to start the Civil War. To symbolize that solemn occasion, Production Design Associates (PDA) used two Strong Brightlight 7000 Xenon searchlights that split into two, marking the division of the nation. The display could be seen in the night sky for miles around.

American DJ’s H20 DMX PRO flowing water effect provides users with a variety of rippling liquid images in six dichroic colors – orange, green, blue, yellow, purple and white. There are also two separate glass effects wheels, each projecting a different water pattern.  Since the color wheel itself is independent, users can select one color or have a rotating rainbow of all six dichroic colors. Other features include 0-100% dimming capabilities and two replaceable beam angle lenses (34° and 52°) with focus control. The unit comes with a 50W LED source rated for 30,000 hours of use.

CPL Builds Largest Temporary Christie MicroTile Wall in Europe

SUSSEX, U.K. — At the 2011 Goodwood Festival of Speed, Central Presentations Ltd (CPL) provided a video wall from Christie MicroTiles measuring 12.25 meters wide and 2.754 meters high, using 270 MicroTiles. The display, the largest yet to be built for temporary use in Europe, was for the Audi stand at the event’s indoor exhibition pavilion area at the Goodwood House in Sussex.
