Chaos Visual Productions Provides Video Gear for Josh Groban Tour

LOS ANGELES — Chaos Visual Productions provided video support for the North American leg of Josh Groban’s 2011 Straight to You Tour in the form of four double stacks of 20K projectors projecting seamless, edge-blended imagery onto an 80-by-30-foot screen. The North American tour, with dates in North America from May 12 to Labor Day, will resume in October after making several stops in Europe. Peter Mensch, Cliff Burnstein and Tony Dicioccio of Q Prime-NYC are the tour managers.

Tait/FTSI Seminar at PLASA Details Production of Batman Live

LONDON — Key members of the Batman Live production team joined Tait Towers staff to reveal the details behind the show at a seminar Sept. 12 during this year’s PLASA exhibition in Earls Court, London. Production director Jake Berry and set designer Es Devlin, who sought out Tait Towers for the ambitious live touring production, were joined at the seminar by James “Winky” Fairorth, president of Tait Towers, along with Dana Bartholomew from Fisher Technical Services (FTSI), also part of the Tait Tower’s group.

Rose Brand Announces a New Scholarship Program

SECAUCUS, NJ — Rose Brand has announced the Rose Brand Scholarship Program, which is awarded to a student in the amount of $5,000. A Rose Brand credit for $2,500 will also be given to the student’s school to help enhance the theater program. PCE Supports “Peter Pan” with Clay Paky, Elation and ETC Gear

LOS ANGELES — LD Michael Gilliam’s design for McCoy-Rigby’s national touring production of Peter Pan is using Clay Paky, Elation and ETC gear provided by Pacific Coast Entertainment (PCE). Clay Paky’s Sharpy fixture is used to represent Tinkerbell. The rig also uses 14 Elation Design Wash 1400E and 16 Power Spot 700 CMY II fixtures.
