“Book of Mormon,” “War Horse” Garner Tony Lighting Design Honors
NEW YORK — The American Theatre Wing announced the winners for the 2011 Tony Awards, which was televised live on CBS June 12. The winner for Best Lighting Design of a Play was Paule Constable for War Horse; nominees included David Lander for Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo; Kenneth Posner for The Merchant of Venice; and Mimi Jordan Sherin for Jerusalem. For Best Lighting Design of a Musical, the winner was Brian MacDevitt for The Book of Mormon. Nominees included Ken Billington for The Scottsboro Boys; Howell Binkley for How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying; and Peter Kaczorowski for Anything Goes.

ArKaos A30 Media Server
ArKaos’ A30 Media Server, which runs MediaMaster software, is designed for strength, vibration protection, heat tolerance and efficient air flow. Fans protected by dust filters are at the front of the unit and can be accessed with a special door for easy servicing, and the case also has a display on the front which lets the unit be used without connecting to an external display. An LED strip on the front cover also displays the server’s state of operation. The back of the case features Neutrik connectors and XLR connectors for audio input and output. The unit comes with a library of digital media, and it pre-configured to work directly with a wide range of DMX lighting desks. The ArKaos A30 allows for playback of nine simultaneous HD layers or six Full HD* layers on up to 6 outputs.
