Chaos Acquires Chris Wickman Productions

LOS ANGELES—Chaos Visual Productions, formed in Dec 2008 by John J. Wiseman, Chris Kaman and Chuck Burtzloff, has announced its acquisition of 100 percent of CW Productions (CWP). CWP was founded in 1989 by Chris and Sheila Wickman as a show production rental house, and now handles specialty lighting, video, projection, and show programming.

PR Lighting StarBrite LED Cloth

PR Lighting has launched the new StarBrite LED cloth and dedicated PR-8710C controller, which comes complete with flight case. IPX3-protected (against spraying water), the StarBrite comes with 12 preset programs contains a total of 144 LEDs (18 x 8 sequences), with a lamp life of 30,000 hours. Outputting 150cd brightness with all the LED’s emitting white light, it also offers strobe, white color channel (for color testing, and with strobe and dimming), DMX or manual control. There is also a key-press lock for avoiding improper operation. The LED StarBrite’s power consumption is less than 30W, while the Controller (input 200W, output 150W max) can drive four separate StarBrite cloths. The StarBrite comes in 6000mm x 4000mm cloth sizes and the controller measures 190mm x 320mm x 87.5mm. The cloth and 15-meter signal connection cable weighs 20kg and the controller 2.3kg.

NEW YORK — Scharff Weisberg provided video and audio support for the large-scale installation, Pour Your Body Out (7354 Cubic Meters), by Swiss artist Pipilotti Rist in The Donald B. and Catherine C. Marron Atrium at The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). Klaus Biesenbach, the Museum’s Chief Curator of the Department of Media, organized the exhibition.

LMG Completes Orlando HQ Expansion

ORLANDO — LMG, Inc. recently completed a 50,000 square foot expansion project of the firm’s corporate headquarters. The addition brings LMG’s warehouse and office space to 108,000 square feet. LMG said the warehouse expansion provides the needed space for the company’s growing inventory of equipment.
