West Coast LDs, Venues Relying on ETC Eos Control

LOS ANGELES — More lighting designers and venues are using ETC’s Eos control system since it was launched in 2006, particularly in California, including the Los Angeles Opera (LAO), shown here. The Hollywood Bowl also upgraded to an Eos console last year to handle all the conventional lights and some of the moving lights on its rig. Since then, more than 100 shows have been lit by the board, including many tours where guest lighting designers used Eos to control the show.

Robe Gear Brightens Citizen Journalism Awards

GRAHAMSTOWN, South Africa — Johannesburg-based Sound Stylists supplied Robe moving lights for LD Andre Rossouw from SABC’s Air Time for his design at the Highway Africa Digital Journalism Awards. The 2008 event was staged at the Guy Butler Theatre on the campus of Rhodes University, and was also broadcast live on SABC International.

Patriots Gain Visual Yardage at New Fan Venue

FOXBOROUGH, MA —NFL’s New England Patriots’ Hall at Patriot Place, adjacent to Gillette Stadium, has an array of interactive and immersive multimedia exhibits and an AV system engineered, installed and supplied by Electrosonic. Visitors to the 36,000-square foot facility can see a variety of projected video and audio content.
