KNOXVILLE, TN – PLSN and FOH are once again joining Bandit Lites chair Michael T. Strickland in calling on everyone in our live event industry to reach out to their representatives in Congress for an expansion in PPP funding. Strickland notes that the PPP application extension to Aug. 8 and the PPP Flexibility Act that became law July 4 and July 5 are welcome enhancements, but they do NOT add funding. “That will [hopefully] come in the next session, before July 30,” he noted. To help that come to pass, it’s time to reach out to Congress.

LAS VEGAS – PLSN and FOH magazines are following up on April’s Covid-19 Entertainment Technology Economic Impact survey with a followup survey in early July. We would like to know where you stand now in comparison with then. These results will be shared with local and Congressional legislators so they can better assess the impact the pandemic is having on the entertainment technology industry.

BATON ROUGE, LA – Ryan Rider, central lighting director at Bethany Church, has been working with experience director Dustin West and camera director Taylor Coleman to adapt a lighting rig designed for live services to create layers of light for filmed and recorded performances. The setup includes Chauvet Professional EPIX Strip Tours and Rogue R1X Wash fixtures.

BIRMINGHAM, AL – E2i Design’s Josh Holowicki included GLP’s X4 Bar 20 in the rig for Church of the Highlands’ Grants Mill broadcast campus in the Birmingham area. E2i has been supporting the church’s lighting and LED needs since 2012. For the upgrade at the Grants Mill campus, Holowicki worked with broadcast lighting director Griffin McCravy.
