91st Oscars are 30th Lit by LD Robert Dickinson

LOS ANGELES – In a milestone year for LD Robert Dickinson, the 91st Academy Awards, broadcast live Feb. 24 from the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, CA, represented the 30th Oscar ceremony to by lit by the veteran LD. Dickinson, who has also lit Grammy Award and Olympics ceremonies along with other major international spectacles and TV specials, has won 18 Primetime Emmy Awards – three of them for Oscars ceremonies – and two Daytime Emmy Awards.

L8 Announces 2019 Previz Design Challenge

KIEV, Ukraine – Kiev-based lighting design and previz software company L8, led by veteran software developer Dmitriy Giventar, is offering a new opportunity for designers to showcase their work and skills. For the month of March, users can try out the L8 product at no charge – up to 512 channels. A dongle-less free version of the software suite is expected to be available for download from starting on March 1, 2019.
