Whirlwind PLR-MC21 and PLR-MC22

Whirlwind’s PLR-MC21 and PLR-MC22 (pictured here) control three-phase chain motors. Each will operate one or two motors in a 2RU package, with all controls and connections accessible on the front panel. The PLR-MC21 has 10-amp circuit breaker protection and is designed for use with one-ton and smaller motors. The PLR-MC22 has 20-amp circuit breaker protection and is designed for use with two-ton motors. Both have individual up and down selectors for each motor and a master GO button. A phase reverse circuit is also provided to correct motor direction. Three phase input connectors can be selected to coordinate with existing power distros.

Sunrise Avenue Tours with Elation ACL 360i™ and Dartz 360™

FINLAND – From mid-October to early December, Finnish rock band Sunrise Avenue toured across Europe on their “Heartbreak Century” tour, a run of smaller venues before the five-member band hits the road on a bigger arena tour in the new year. Light, set and video were supplied by Ambion GmbH headquartered in Kassel, Germany. Lighting designer Stephan Aue, who supported the band for the first time in 2015 on their enormously successful arena tour, was once again responsible for the lighting design, relying on products from Elation Professional, among others.

NYC’s Bryant Park Winter Village Lit with Chauvet Professional Fixtures

NEW YORK – LD Diana Kesselschmidt included more than 130 Chauvet Professional fixtures supplied by PRG in her design for Bryant Park Winter Village, a five-month winter wonderland in Midtown Manhattan with hundreds of pop-up shops of all descriptions, along with the city’s only free ice skating rink. They included 116 COLORado 2-Quad Zoom IP fixtures and 18 Ovation E-260WW IP ellipsoidals.

ESTA Announces Transition to the Next Generation of Staff Leadership

NYC – ESTA is very pleased to announce that it has named Erin Grabe to succeed Executive Director Lori Rubinstein in what is expected to be a year-long transition. Erin is currently ESTA’s Assistant Technical Standards Manager and part of the transition involves replacing her in that role. Erin is uniquely positioned to step into the role of Executive Director. She has been working in technical production in live events since the age of 15, including nine years working for Grand Stage Company as a sales associate, purchasing agent, and project manager.
