RC4’s new firmware v4.071 / 2.71.3.0 for all RC4 Wireless Series 3 Harmonized Design Devices is now available, for the company’s RC4 Magic Series 3 (2.4GHz and 900MHz), L​umenDim​for CRMX and W​­DIM​for W­DMX. Referred to as v71, it supercedes previously released v19 and v50. The company also announced additional pixel string support for RC4Magic DMXpix, pictured here.

Rose Brand’s Stretcher Frame System is designed to fix the extreme hourglassing and puckering often encountered with scrims, bobbinettes, vinyl, projection screens, and muslin backdrops. Hourglassing naturally occurs when fabrics stretch vertically causing the sides to pull in, and in some cases, puckering occurs. Key features of the frame include fast and easy attachment to batten, adaptability to different sized backdrops, and sleeved bottom pipe for smooth pockets.

Scenex Lighting from GLP US Inc. launched a new range of flexible pixel control LED tape, featuring four-color RGBW LED’s, with different color temperature options available for the white LED element. With a pixel pitch of 16.7mm (60 pixels per meter), this new tape has a bright output and allows direct control over the color of each individual pixel and the ability to create unlimited effects across a length of tape with expanded color control from earlier RGB versions.

AUSTIN, TX and BRUSSELS, Belgium – ArKaos PRO and High End Systems announced a new software collaboration promising simple, seamless, fast integration of video and lighting control. The two companies have worked in close cooperation to create a new Auto Patch feature which enables any Hog lighting console to take control of an ArKaos media server, quickly and easily, at the press of a single button.

FRANKFURT, Germany – Robe is expanding its presence at Prolight + Sound 2016 in Frankfurt. The company’s stand, D80 in Hall 3, will be three times larger than before, accommodating hundreds of guests and focusing on a classic theatrical theme to showcase two new key products – the DL7S Profile and the DL7F Wash, both designed for the theatre and television markets.

Hitachi Kokusai Electric America Ltd. (Hitachi Kokusai) will exhibit at the 2016 NAB Show April 18-21 in Las Vegas. Exhibiting in booth C4309 at the show, Hitachi Kokusai will provide working demonstrations of their SK-UHD8060 Super Hi-Vision camera. The world’s first dockable 8K camera, the SK-UHD8060 is Hitachi Kokusai’s fourth-generation 8K production solution and is ideal for studio and outside broadcast (OB) applications.

Blizzard Lighting’s TOURnado LED offerings expand with the addition of the TOURnado WW COB fixture. The bright LED fixture, equipped with a 60W tungsten color COB LED light source, emits a warm 3000K color temperature with a wide 60° beam angle. With a convection cooled cast aluminum housing, tempered glass lens, watertight internal gaskets and extended weatherproof power and data cable in/out connections, it’s suited for indoor or outdoor use.

Videssence’s Vidnel 150 LED Fresnel expands the company’s LED Fresnel offerings, stepping up from their 80 watt, 4” lens forerunner to a new 150 watt 6”lens Fresnel option. The more powerful Vidnel 150 promises longer light throw and expanded flood capabilities while still delivering impressive color at 96+ CRI.

Altman Lighting’s PHX 150 is a 150W LED profile spot fixture designed for long throw theatrical, architectural, house of worship and film/TV applications. Altman says its PHX 150 is the first long throw LED profile spot available to be completely convection cooled, making it well suited for acoustically sensitive applications. The PHX 150 LED profile spot is available in 3000K white, RGBA, RGBW, 5600k white and tunable white array options for maximum design flexibility. The 150W promises to serve as an energy-efficient alternative to standard 575W incandescent source fixtures seamlessly, with no bench focusing required. Phoenix LED is available in various lens options including 5°, 10°, 19°, 26°, 36° and 50° with a 19°, 26°, 36° or 50° lens barrel included at no extra charge. Also sold as standard – a C-clamp, safety cable and color frame. Zoom options of 15-35° and 30-55° are also available. Like its incandescent counterpart, the Altman PHX 150 LED profile spot features locking shutters, a fully enclosed accessory holder and a 360° rotating barrel for those difficult to achieve focus angles.

Martin’s RUSH MH 7 Hybrid, an all-in-one beam, spot and wash moving head fixture, is now available. The compact fixture promises flexibility with advanced, dynamic effects. Features include crisp optics with three zoom modes: 2.2°–15° in beam mode, 2.5°–24° in spot mode and 15°–45° in wash mode. A Philips Platinum 11R 250W 7800 K lamp promises ample output, and the fixture offers eight rotating/ indexing and 12 static gobos. There are 10 selectable colors and effects via an eight-facet circular and four-facet linear prism.
