Chroma-Q’s Color Charge Plus, a higher-output version, offers 50 percent more output (900 lumens) than the original Color Charge (600 lumens). Its nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) power cell delivers up to 30 hours from a single charge. The unit features wireless DMX control. Up 170 fixtures can be connected on a single network. The wireless range is 100-200 meters.

The Magic Lamp by Global Special Effects is a 11.5-foot-tall “street lamp” that generates “Evaporative Snow.” While giving the appearance of snow, the biodegradable, non-toxic snow-like material never accumulates. It evaporates within 90 seconds and does not leave a residue, according to the company. It’s a non-slip, flame-retardant effect that can be used indoors or out. The aluminum-cast street lamp itself, which comes with three light globes and three Evaporative Snow nozzles on top, can be operated by controls hidden in its base or by remote control.

AUSTIN, TX – High End Systems offers Wholehog OS users a new Wholehog MIDI/LTC Widget, which adds a level of timecode and additional MIDI functionality. Cosmetic updates have been made to other existing Wholehog accessory products, so while the look is different, the functionality is the same.

ORLANDO, FL – Alcorn McBride is introducing two new products for the themed entertainment industry at the IAAPA show Nov. 14-18 in Orlando. New items include a single universe lighting controller with Ethernet control, and software that allows simple transcoding of media files. Other products will also be on display at booth 652.

CALGARY, Alberta  – The new CS-DMX series are manual “stand-alone” DMX controls supporting 512 channels of DMX data with digitally adjustable fade times. Daisy-chain multiple stations. Or individually program with a wireless infrared hand-held programmer permitting any slider/channel assignments imaginable.

American DJ’s new Flat Par CWWW9 and Flat Par CWWW18 LED par cans feature white light color temperatures ranging from 3400 to 7400 degrees K.  The low-profile, “sit-flat” design, with DMX connectors on the side of the fixture, plus the included bracket and safety hook, makes them well-suited for use as overhead stage lighting, uplighting or for inside truss as a truss toner.

Johnson Systems’ JSI EDI-120 retrofit electronics package promises to give Electronics Diversified Inc. (EDI) Mark VII rack owners an alternative to replacing systems now in use at many professional and educational venues. The product features Johnson Systems’ CD-3000 firmware and hardware in a unit that is designed to be compact and easy-to-install. The purpose of the product is to help EDI Mark VII rack owners get many more years of reliable performance from their initial investment in their dimmer racks.

Chauvet’s Épix is a series of pixel mapping LED fixtures run by ArKaos Kling-Net protocol. Épix Bar and Épix Strip feature tri-colored SMD LEDs set at a pixel pitch of 25 millimeters. Épix Bar has 160 SMD LEDs and is self-contained with built-in operating features, while Épix Strip incorporates 40 SMD LEDs and uses Épix Drive 640—a separate controller which operates up to 16 Épix Strip fixtures. The Kling-Net protocol automatically configures real-time video data, removing the complexity of setting up standard LED displays and speeding the process. The protocol is designed to be easy to use directly from a computer, eliminating the need for video hardware converters.

LARGO, FL  – SeaChanger expands its product line with three new luminaires using a 575W HMI lamp, available in Profile, Wash and Exterior-rated models. The new 24,000 lumen SeaChanger HMI will be on display in SeaChanger’s booth (#108) at LDI 2011.

VANCOUVER, BC, Canada – Parasol Advanced Systems showcases its new KLR System (Kinetic Light Ring) at Clay Paky’s booth (#913) during LDI 2011. The KLR system is an alternate means of moving the source point of a number of automated lighting fixtures along a pre-defined, circular path. The system will be demonstrated with 12 Clay Paky Sharpys.
