    Christie Digital Maps Montreal’s Downtown

    KITCHENER, Ontario– Christie technology has been drawing crowds nightly since 2011 to Quartier des Spectacles, Montreal’s entertainment district. Within this square kilometer, audiences are captivated by visual creations displayed on several buildings using 26 Christie Roadster projectors. From December to February, the show’s theme is ‘Lighting Therapy’ and visitors will again flock to the site for an energizing experience under the influence of the magic of light.

    Spyder Streamlines HITT Contracting’s 75th Anniversary

    FALLS CHURCH, VA – Bartkresa design of Los Angeles used Vista System’s Spyder to showcase video content during the the 75th anniversary celebration for HITT Contracting in Falls Church, VA. Bart Kresa used a Spyder to switch the six outputs from a pair of video servers to three sets of triple stacked projectors. Says Kresa,  “We were still editing the materials while the show was running. So as we had one system online playing back the content, we were editing on the other system and then going online with system B and editing on system A.”

    WorldStage Helps Turn High Line into Real Life ‘Project Runway’

    NEW YORK – Strollers on the Chelsea Market passage of the High Line (a linear park built on a former elevated NY Central Railroad) got to strut their stuff, pose and collect nods of approval as they walked a virtual runway to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Lifetime’s “Project Runway.”  WorldStage facilitated the installation of a 20-ft long interactive videowall, which used human tracking technology to mix the realtime virtual emotions of show host Heidi Klum, mentor Tim Gunn and judges Michael Kors and Nina Garcia as they reacted to the fashion sense of passersby seeking their moment on the runway.

    KITCHENER, Ontario –  Christie Digital technology has been entertaining visitors at Canada’s Wonderland theme park with “Starlight Spectacular,” a projection mapping display that brings Wonderland Mountain to life each evening. Four Christie Roadster S+20K 3-chip DLP projectors equipped with Christie Twist Pro display fire breathing dragons, the changing seasons, ripple effects in a kaleidoscope of colors, and a mountain that appears to crumble – among other imagery.

    Dataton Provides Haunting Projection at Muncaster Castle

    MUNCASTER, UK - Muncaster Castle has a reputation as one of the most haunted buildings in the UK. For their busiest Halloween ever, the castle has upgraded to version 5 of Dataton’s Watchout to ensure that the multimedia experience it offers is as compelling – and as scary – as it has ever been. Mirage Associates has supported  the castle, advising on content and system setup. “The projectors are in custom-made, weather-proof housings, and there is one computer for each tower of the Castle,” explains Steve Selwyn of Mirage. “Each show is on a 20-minute loop, synchronized with audio and lighting, and is shown to an audience of between 200 and 600 people each evening. It is a huge enhancement to the Castle’s visitor experience."

    LEXINGTON, KY - Rupp Arena wanted a spectacular launch for the Kentucky Wildcat’s 2012-13 season, so Bob Stoops, Technical Services Manager, contacted XL Video to specify and supply equipment and crew for a projection directly on to the 94x50 ft basketball court. As the court became a screen, the rousing video was the perfect introduction, and got the 23,500-strong crowd pumped and ready for the scrimmage.

    PHILADELPHIA – There were Spyders in the house at Budweiser’s Made In America Festival in Philadelphia on Labor Day weekend with 100,000 or so people turning out to hear Jay-Z and Pearl Jam.  Austin, TX-based J3 Productions LLC selected Vista Spyders to pixel map LED content and handle live background media on the main stage during the two-day concert series.

Entertainment Technologies (AC-ET) Ltd’s Video division has supplied Green Hippo’s Hippotizer HD media server to the University of Huddersfield in West Yorkshire, UK. The new Hippotizer HD will be used by students on the BA Honors courses in Technical Theatre and Drama. AC-ET also conducted on-site staff training on the new technology by Green Hippo’s Simon Harris.

    Christie Adds Bite to Discovery Channel’s Shark Week

    LOS ANGELES - Sharks were seen recently prowling the pool of the Beverly Hilton hotel, but luckily for guests, it was just a projection from a Christie YK200 dual-arm yoke, with a Christie projector mounted on it. Another six Christie projectors displayed similar shark-related images on a large wall nearby. It was all part of the Discovery Channel’s Shark Week 25th anniversary celebration.
