Projection Studio Enchants the Parks

LONDON – Projection artist Ross Ashton returned to Gateshead’s Saltwell Park for the Enchanted Parks 2012 event. His large format show “Glass House,” was a multimedia experience celebrating the work of Victorian stained glass artist, William Wailes. Ashton commissioned a photographer to visit all the churches in the area which still have intact Wailes stained glass windows, including St Nicholas’ Cathedral, Newcastle and others, which he used as original materials for his PIGI artwork.

Farmer’s starting point of the design was a basic concept from show producer Christian Storm of Mass Movement, which included some specific video treatments from which Farmer started building the lighting visuals.

Christie MicroTiles Attract Customers for Media Company

KITCHENER, Ontario – Christie MicroTiles are attracting customers into the retail stores of Canadian media giant Shaw Communications, where the digital display technology educates customers about the Shaw universe that includes cable television, Internet and phone service. Rather than have all 24 MicroTiles depicting one piece of content simultaneously, a waterfall effect was designed with the tiles slightly staggered with gaps along the X Y and Z access.

PUGET SOUND, WA – Christie Technology brings the past to life at Tillicum Village, a Native American cultural experience, with holographic images powered by two Christie HD10K-M Series 3-chip DLP projectors. Using built-in Christie AutoStack and Christie Twist, the projectors cast holographic images onto a screen of a storyteller interacting with live actors and drummers throughout the performance on stage, helping capture tribal traditions. The images are so life-like, sometimes the audience wonders why the storyteller doesn’t take a bow at the end.
