PHOENIX – This year, Arizona Opera, which stages productions in Phoenix and Tucson, premiered Riders of the Purple Sage, composed by Craig Bohmler and featuring Western landscape paintings by artist Ed Mell on an LED screen measuring 56.5 by 26.5 feet (WxH). Clearwing Productions provided the 248 Mega Systems Dicolor Phantom 5.9mm video panels from Helotes, TX-based Mega Systems Inc.

Electrosonic Upgrades Projection and AV Systems in Daytona’s Motorsports Hall of Fame

LOS ANGELES – When a projection systems upgrade was required for the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America (MSHFA), Electrosonic was asked to design, install, program and commission projection and AV equipment for the Robert E. Petersen Theatre and the Great Moments exhibit. Electrosonic replaced the aging projector in the Robert E. Petersen Theatre with a 12,000 lumen Christie HD laser phosphor projector which displays three looped videos on the screen.

LMG Adds Five New Fujinon UA18x 4K Units to Inventory

WAYNE, NJ – The Optical Devices Division of FUJIFILM announced the first sale and delivery of the company’s just-introduced UA18x5.5B 4K compatible, Ultra HD, handheld zoom. The Orlando-based live event and systems integration firm, LMG, purchased five UA18x’s for use within its expanding “Touring” and “Show Technology” divisions. The new zooms will complement Sony HDC-4300 4K/HD cameras and Panasonic AK-UC3000 4K Studio cameras and will be used to shoot large-scale music concerts and corporate events.

Upstage Video Partners with Empire Entertainment on AMC Networks’ Upfront in NYC

NEW YORK — Upstage Video partnered with Empire Entertainment to provide multiple LED screens for AMC Networks’ “upfront” event, staged on April 6 at the Skylight Clarkson North in New York City. The setup included a 9’x16’ screen in the cocktail area and two 10’x65’ screens near the dining area, both using ROE’s Black Onyx 3mm tiles, chosen in part for the guests’ close proximity to the screens.
