Kid Koala ‘Nufonia Must Fall’ Live Puppet Shows Make Use of Blackmagic Design Cameras, Switchers

MONTREAL — Eric San, better known as Montreal-based turntablist and producer Kid Koala, incorporated a live-action puppet show into the Nufonia Must Fall tour, a live version of his graphic novel that has been described as “a play, puppet show, concert and film, all in one.” Blackmagic Design’s Pocket Cinema Cameras and an ATEM Production Studio 4K played a key role in the production, conceived, San says, as “a live film that would take place, in one take, in front of an audience using multiple cameras.”

A huge video display took center stage at Adobe MAX 2016 where WorldStage demonstrated its projection mapping expertise for the fifth consecutive year and for the first time in a full-4K environment.  The size and scale of the video mapping element significantly outpaced the previous year’s event where WorldStage’s Christie Boxer 4K projectors made their Adobe MAX debut.

MINNEAPOLIS — Adam Frey, technical director at Substance Church in Minneapolis, worked with integration partner Reach Communications to install a 47-foot-wide PixelFLEX video wall. The wall, which nearly fills the proscenium stage of the recently-built auditorium at Substance Church’s Northtown campus, measures 11.5 feet tall and is made with FLEXTour LED video panels. It can also be raised when not in use via a stage rigging system.
