The National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA), a South Korean government agency, expanded its studio for the third time. Partnering with Ark Ventures and once again selecting ROE Visual LED displays, NIPA Studio has expanded from a basic XR studio to a full-fledged hybrid virtual production studio, achieving remarkable results.
The project began in 2021, when NIPA embarked on building a VP studio to help boost the region’s tech industry and strengthen its position in the digital solutions space. More recently, NIPA and ARK Ventures joined forces for their fourth cooperation and successfully expanded the NIPA Hybrid Studio in the Mapo District of Seoul.

For the newest integration, NIPA once again selected ROE Visual’s Black Pearl2 V2 and the newly purchased Carbon5L MKII to enhance the LED display setup. For consistency, the BP2V2 panels have been implemented to blend seamlessly with the existing ones. Over the three phases of expansion, NIPA Hybrid Studio now features a 24m-wide and 6m-high BP2V2 main screen, 224 Black Marble4 panels and 49 CB5LMKII panels. This scale-up has been designed to advance XR virtual display technology.
The space also leverages Brompton processors, Disguise virtual rendering systems and ARRI film-grade lighting. NIPA Hybrid Studio is managed by an experienced creative and technical team and has developed into one of South Korea’s most advanced hybrid virtual production studios. Currently, the facility serves various applications, including advertising, film production, seminars, education and training, while sustaining active commercial operations.
