Marshall Bissett, Chairman of the Parnelli Awards Board of Advisors, announced the addition of Danny Abelson and Amanda Davis to the board overseeing the Award Show and all that is associated with it. “We are grateful that Danny and Amanda have agreed to join Advisory Board,” Bissett says. “We have an impressive roster of industry talent representing all areas of our business, but they will add additional insight from an audio perspective. The Board are the engine that drives the awards show, and I look forward to their participation.” Both names should be familiar to Parnelli Award followers and readers of FOH magazine.

Danny Abelson

Abelson is a frequent writer for the magazine, who most recently turned in articles on the tours of the Rolling Stones, David Gilmour, and Green Day. After 50 years working in live sound, Abelson remains as passionate about performance audio, and the dedicated crews that make it happen, as ever. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a BA in Performing Arts Technology, many know Danny from his role as partner in Turbosound, responsible for introducing the English speaker brand to US touring service companies, designers, and installers. Danny also pioneered the ultra-analog ATI Paragon mixing to the touring community. More recently, Abelson has served as an Entertainment Technologist working with large sports and entertainment facilities. Clients include New York Giants, Green Bay Packers, Philadelphia Eagles, Carnegie Hall, the Grand Ole Opry, and many NCAA Division 1 organizations, among others. He supervised the design and integration of $100M in low voltage technology systems during construction of the MetLife stadium. He’s also a mentor to startups within the Comcast SportsTech Accelerator program, which led to him performing as COO of broadcast software developer Audazzio. Abelson has been a member of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees since 1982.

Amanda Davis

Davis is a Memphis-born audio engineer, educator, and musician using her skills to empower others globally. As a Roosevelt University and SAE Institute graduate, she became SAE’s first woman Lab Supervisor and Music Theory instructor. In 2013, Davis’ touring career began when she became Janelle Monáe’s FOH engineer. Davis has mixed for Prince, Stevie Wonder, Jon Batiste, Olivia Rodrigo, Tank and the Bangas, and Ella Mai at venues including the White House, Radio City Music Hall, Hollywood Bowl, the Grammys, Glastonbury Fest, Montreux Jazz Festival, and the Sydney Opera house. Davis created “Linecheck, Women in Live Production,” a mentoring program and currently teaches a Live Mixing course at Berklee Online. She was a member of the Parnelli NextGen Class of 2019, and is currently out mixing for the folk-pop group Tiny Habits, who is opening for James Taylor.

The next Parnelli Awards will be held on Saturday January 24, 2026, at the Anaheim Hilton Convention Hotel in conjunction with the 125th NAMM Show.
