Get ready for Mental Health Awareness Month with April 27 trainings in Mental Health First Aid and Bystander Intervention in the Entertainment Industry from the Behind the Scenes Mental Health Initiative. More people than ever are feeling anxious, or depressed and peer support can go a long way towards helping individuals cope with those feelings and prevent them from experiencing a mental health crisis.

Join the almost 1,700 industry professionals who are certified Mental Health First Aiders and are taking positive action to support their colleagues. Learn how to identify, understand and respond to signs of distress in your colleagues and help make our workplaces healthier and safer spaces. Mental Health First Aid takes the fear and hesitation out of starting conversations, teaches how to listen non-judgmentally and give reassurance, and how to refer to appropriate professional support.

Sign up for Mental Health First Aid on Sunday, April 27 now at btshelp.org/mhfa. The course is delivered in two parts. The first is a 2 hour self-paced online course that must be completed prior to an interactive 6 hour virtual, live instructor-led session.

The registration fee is $125. IATSE Members and those working under IATSE agreements may be eligible for Training Trust Fund reimbursement upon proof of successful completion of the course. A limited number of partial and full scholarships are available to individuals not eligible for reimbursement.

Bullying and harassment are also on the rise in our tumultuous times and most people feel helpless to take action if they witness this behavior, but there are simple, proven techniques to safely and effectively intervene. Join us for Bystander Intervention in the Entertainment Workplace on Sunday, April 27, a free webinar open to all industry workers presented by RightToBe and sponsored by the IATSE International.

In just 90 minutes you will learn five easily accessible tools for use in any workplace to safely intervene without the worry of retaliation. Entertainment industry scenarios will help you understand how to choose tools to match your comfort level. Advance registration at btshelp.org/bystander is required to be sent the login link.
