MEGA-LITE Sponsored the Expo Stage at USITT 2025
On March 6-8, MEGA-LITE had the opportunity to light up the Expo Stage at USITT 2025, where a series of exciting conferences took place during the Expo. Starting with The Psychology of Stupidity, an interactive workshop where attendees learned to design better systems to ensure safety in workspaces, presented by Risky Business Resources. Following with A Day on Tour: Learning the Rules of the Road with Touring Professionals, presented by Crossroads Live North America, a team at the forefront of producing and managing Broadway tours across the country and around the world. Also, The Battle of the Beams, an exhibit showcasing cutting-edge moving lights, with Tony Award-winning Broadway Lighting Designer Jeff Croiter as the special guest. And many more.

To bring to life this innovative installation, where multiple learning sessions took place, the lighting designer, James Nealy from the MEGA team, arranged: six Outerbot Wash 340 luminaires on the upstage truss span. Six Light Pipes of 2’, 4’, and 6’ long on the stage deck, each topped with a Deco Vintage Scoop Q32 to create a lollipop look. Six Outshine Pixel Strip Q360 fixtures placed on the floor behind the stage to light the backdrop. Six Framebots 600, 4 Colorlite Q120, and 4 Teclight BVW150 featured on the FOH truss span, serving as houselights. One additional Light Truss, flown overhead, featuring another four Teclights and four Colorlite Q120.

For control, they implemented the MEGA Console running the latest version of LUMEN8, an advanced software for production and theatrical lighting control.

“It was super exciting to see the fresh crop of lighting designers getting hands-on experience with the MEGA-LITE product,” said James Nealy, Lighting Designer and Control Specialist at MEGA-LITE. “Watching the Penn State students rock the stage with the advanced features of MEGA Control and MEGA-LITE fixtures to whip up some awesome looks for various presentations was so fulfilling. Can’t wait to dive back into it all over again next year.”

This sponsorship is a reminder of the company’s commitment to providing modern and reliable lighting solutions that both amateurs and professionals can use for a variety of applications.

The MEGA-LITE Experience at USITT 2025
MEGA-LITE proudly participated in the USITT Expo 2025. This marks the fifth time the company has joined this premier event, which brings together the performing arts design and technology communities. The expo fosters dynamic conversations among students, educators, and industry professionals, providing an invaluable platform for innovation and collaboration.

At the MEGA-LITE booth, attendees had the opportunity to experience the company’s theatrical luminaire family firsthand. Designed to enhance performers both on and off stage, showcased fixtures included the Framebot 600, the Dramas FS-LED 700 & 900, the Drama LED W50, and the Dramas EW200 & EC200. For control, the MEGA Console and the Total Control D2 were utilized, demonstrating their seamless integration and ease of use. In addition to the theatrical luminaires, several trusses were raised to handle lighting fixtures from the top, providing attendees with a full-scale demonstration of MEGA-LITE’s powerful and versatile lighting solutions.

A major highlight of this year’s exhibition was the Teclight, a new addition to MEGA-LITE’s family of statics luminaires. This versatile fixture serves as blue/running light and has a tunable white from cool to warm, offering a reliable solution for efficiently illuminating offstage areas. Another standout was the Followbot Compact 1000W LED, which captivated visitors with its powerful compact design, ideal for short to midsize applications, delivering unmatched precision and brilliance to lighting designers and operators alike.

“We love being part of USITT. Seeing students’ excitement as they test our lighting gear is incomparable. It’s also great to connect with teachers and industry partners as we help shape the next generation of entertainment professionals.” said Guillermo Cabada, Marketing Director at MEGA-LITE.

MEGA-LITE extends its gratitude to USITT for hosting another successful event and for fostering a space where industry leaders and aspiring professionals can engage with the latest advancements in entertainment technology. We look forward to continuing our commitment to innovation and collaboration in the years to come.
