(LEXINGTON, Ala.) — The world’s leading provider of special effects and atmospheric control, Global Special Effects, has announced Juli Guerra as president of the company. Guerra will make history serving as the first female president of the Alabama-based special effects company. Former president Mike Giles retired last year after 25+ years of loyal service to the company.

Born and raised in Alabama, Guerra graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and has upward of 15 years of experience in sales and account management. Most recently, Guerra consulted in the oil and natural gas industry in the Charlotte and Atlanta metropolitan areas.

“I’ve always been fascinated by special effects, so I’m incredibly honored and humbled to serve as president of one of the largest special effects companies in the world,” Guerra said. “After everything we’ve gone through over the past couple years, I’m so excited to work with companies, organizations, and individuals to create magical experiences that bring unique visions to life.”

Guerra is passionate about women in business and hopes her presidency will encourage other females and minorities to leave their mark in business and strive for leadership positions in companies and organizations around the world.
