TULSA – David Alexander, well known by his nickname “Schmaba”, passed away on Saturday August 1st, 2020 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was well known to many as an extraordinary cameramen in the touring industry who mentored many along his way with his bright smile and gentle demeanor. Alexander toured with such legendary artists as Genesis,Paula Abdul, Amnesty Intl, Brooks and Dunn and over ten years with Alan Jackson. He was born August 21, 1949 and died of natural causes.
According to his longtime friend and colleague Mark Haney, “David was one of the best live camera ops ever. A generational talent. But more importantly to his family and touring families he was an incredibly kind, approachable, caring human and friend. We all mourn the loss of such a good soul and brother of the road.”
