In Memoriam: Ross Lowell, 92

POUND RIDGE, NY – Ross Lowell, a lighting designer, cinematographer, inventor and entrepreneur, died Jan 10th at age 92. Among his other noted achievements, Lowell is credited as the inventor of gaffer tape along with a widely used quick-clamp light mount system. He also founded Lowel-Light portable lighting gear used widely in the film and TV industry. Along with 20 patents, his compact lighting system was recognized in 1980 with an Academy Award for Technical Achievement.
