GRAFTON, WI  – Partnering with its very own production company KNE Staging, along with local vendors Go Audio and Proline Entertainment, Kapco was able to accomplish a 60+ car “drive in” style show.

More details from Proline Entertainment (http://www.prolineentertainment.com):

A respectable lighting rig of Chauvet Colorado and Martin auras well lit the acoustic acts and provided enough horsepower for the full bands. Proline entertainment’s owner Aaron Zimmermann stated” we needed an IP solution for front lighting since were were deployed for 2 weeks in Wisconsin .  The Colorado fixtures were the ticket, the Martin Auras provided a great wash and augmented with a ground package of our newly acquired Ayrton Khamsins didn’t hurt”.

Go Audio supplied Martin Audio W8LM mains, WSX subs, W8VDQ delays and an FM transmitter allowing people to seamlessly enjoy the show inside or outside their cars.

Brian Ingwell, President of Go Audio said “Although the W8LM is older technology, it worked out great for this event.  Its small size and weight allowed us to meet the load limits of the SL100 and it is still the fullest sounding small format line array element I’ve ever heard.  Artists and audience were both pleased with the results.”

Nashville recording artists Thompson Square kicked off the 2 week run with the duo performing acoustic in front of 50 cars comprised of frontline health care workers and first responders.  This was a free show sponsored by Kapco giving back to them for their tireless work since the pandemic began.

The concerts were then followed by movies shown on a 24’ screen.  Go Audio’s video department provided a Christie Boxer 4K30 projector and video switch gear.  Mike Rizzo of Go Audio said the original plan was to rear project but the mesh screen provided by KNE precluded that so a last minute switch to front projection was required.  “The Boxer’s vast lens shift and keystone capabilities allowed us to switch to front projection and still keep the projector low enough to be out of sightlines.”

KNE Staging built a Modtruss structure to initially support the 300 pound projector but ended up scrapping it for a much smaller Modtruss cover for the elements.

“We utilized our Stageline SL100 for the run” Said Sean Becker Director of Production services at KNE.  “All the groups were well spaced out and were really happy with feeling of safety that the Stageline name carries”.

All attendees were confined to their cars or the spaces immediately next to their vehicles.  “We found that almost everyone was so happy to be out and seeing live entertainment that they were very respectful of each others social distancing bubbles”. Said Becker.

A second run of shows in mid July is currently in the works.
