Logic Systems to hold Career Fair at their Facility

ST LOUIS – There have always been industry professionals who have said once things open up again, it’ll be “like a faucet.” One regional live event company seems to be experiencing that as Logic Systems is holding a Career Fair in their St. Louis location.

More details from Logic (www.logicsound.com):

“Logic Systems is in a similar situation to many in our industry,” says owner Chip Self. “Work is coming back quickly, but there’s a big shortage of shop staff and qualified technicians. People that were furloughed during the pandemic shut-downs often had to go get other jobs in order to pay the bills.” In some case, the new employer required the people to sign contracts for a certain period of time; in other cases, the people have found that they like the new job enough to keep doing it. Self thinks those people are likely out of the industry for good, or at least for a while. He is also playing the long game: “I encourage people to always take a long view. While there are short term advantages to free-lancing, we don’t need to look far into history to see the disadvantages. I believe it’s better for the employer and the employee to have long-term, mutually beneficial relationships. Stability is a good thing for everyone involved.”

The Career Fair will be held on their campus July 13th from 1 to 4 pm. The full-service live event company, which is a frequent Parnelli Awards Hometown Hero nominee, is “currently hiring for all positions.”

“I also believe it’s wise for employees to recognize the efforts and expenses employers went to in an effort to help them during the shut-downs,” he says. “I don’t think most people recognize that PPP didn’t make payroll ‘free’ to employers. PPP does not cover things like payroll tax – which still had to be paid. So for every dollar of PPP an employee took home, their employer paid around $0.20 out of their pocket. In many cases, they paid that for the employees to sit at home. Maybe I’m biased, but that loyalty to the employees should mean something, and should be rewarded with a bit of reciprocal loyalty. This is a team sport.”
