American Audio Visual Using New Chauvet Legend 300E Spots

ORLANDO and DALLAS – American Audio Visual, which ordered a dozen of Chauvet's Legend 300E Spots off the LDI show floor last year, used the fixtures for two events – the Salvation Army Youth Council in Orlando and the 2010 National Annual Meeting of the Boy Scouts of America in Dallas. The latter event took place over two days and included seven presentations for the 2,300 attendees. Marty Teare, team leader of the Meeting Management Team for the Boy Scouts of America, which marked 100 years this year, said the fixtures were used to enhance the presentations with "theatrical lighting – from spotlights on individual speakers to roaming gobo effects. The lights allowed us to easily adjust the themes on stage without moving a lot of props."

Walter Duckworth, event manager for American Audio Visual, credited the fixtures for having "everything the bigger fixtures have, but in a compact size." The moving yoke CMY color-mixing fixtures come with two gobo wheels – one with eight rotating gobos and one with eight fixed gobos. Other features include variable shutter speed, an iris and 16-bit dimming. "We found every function for the fixture that we could want," Duckworth said.
