NEW YORK – SenovvA, a broadcast, theatrical and corporate events production company, recently aligned with the producers American Idiot to provide video, projection and media server support for the production of the Green Day rock opera at New York's St. James Theatre. "It would be foolish of me and my designers not to embrace video and projection in a really giant way," said Michael Mayer, director of American Idiot, which is using miles of cable, 41 Sony HD monitors, 17 Green Hippo media servers, three 20,000 lumen projectors from Barco and two Sony HD cameras.

"Broadway productions are continuously pushing the boundaries with new media as part of story telling," said SenovvA producer Arianna Knapp, who is also project leader for SenovvA's role in American Idiot.

"When the designer and director explained their vision for the role of media and television in American Idiot, we delivered with a wall blanketed with Sony TV monitors and driven by the most comprehensive Hippotizer media server technology setup that has ever been – all designed to tell Green Day's story."
