WASHINGTON, DC – For a White House state dinner with President Hu Jintao of China, Arc3design provided lighting support, using City Theatrical Inc. (CTI)'s SHoW DMX transmitters and receivers and SHoW DMX-equipped PDS-750 TRX power/data supplies. The new PDS-750 TRX controlled many of the Philips Color Kinetics ColorBlast 12 TRX LED fixtures used in the system. Arc3design owner Al Crawford also used battery powered CTI PDS-50 and MasterBlast units driving additional individual ColorBlast 12 TRXs.
The SHoW DMX wireless technology provided in these systems allowed Arc3design to locate gear wherever it was needed, and the SHoW DMX receivers built into the PDS-750 TRX Power/Data Supplies provided wireless DMX for moving lights and conventional incandescent dimmers as well.
The event, held Jan. 19, went smoothly, and marked the first time the technology had been used for a White House function.
