NASHVILLE – More than 2,500 people attended Nashville’s third annual Music City Food + Wine Festival. Bandit Lites provided the lighting package for the festival, which took place Sept. 19 and 20. Following a survey of the site, Bandit Vice President Mike Golden and Project Manager Shawn Lear recommended a circle truss as an architectural focal point, using lights to create the appearance of festoons. Clay Paky Sharpys lit the tops of the tents around the grounds, while GRNLite Pars and VL 3500 Washes provided general color wash of the audience.

It was a celebration of all things mouthwatering and scrumptious as Nashville hosted its third annual Music City Food + Wine Festival. More than 2,500 people attended the event, with 40 demonstrations and tasting sessions from world-renowned chefs and culinary experts including Carla Hall, Andrew Zimmern and Graham Elliot.
“They kept on top of it asking questions and listening to ideas and C-3’s vision,” said Jeff Wendt of C3 Presents. “Within in a week they came up with a lighting concept that fit our ideas. It made Harvest Nights pop and added a sense of excitement.”
In addition to the incredible food and beverage tastings, attendees were also treated to live music from Kings of Leon, Sam Moore, Michael McDonald, Jewel and Michelle Brand.
Lighting director Carter Fulghum explained, “The stage lighting consisted of fresnels for a general wash of the stage and VL2500’s for specials. We also used GRNLite Moving Washes from the upstage for backlighting and effects, and GRNLite Pars to light signs on the front of all the tents. Originally we were going to use pin spots, but the Pars worked a lot better at lighting the signs and gave us color options if we needed it.”
“Occasionally a project comes along that simply sounds like fun and this one didn’t disappoint in the least,” said Golden. “Jeff Wendt, Tim “Tuba” Smith and all the staff of C3 were most receptive to our ideas and they made this a very enjoyable event.”
