NASHVILLE – At age 27, she may have emerged as one of the biggest names in the world of entertainment, with five Grammys, 10 ACM awards, five CMA awards and just about every other country and pop music title and honor you can think of. But Carrie Underwood's star status has not unraveled the tight-knit support structure backing her Play On Tour, which runs through December, according to lighting supplier Bandit Lites, which notes that it has been with Ms. Underwood since her career began seven years ago. The company noted that Ann Edelblute and others at 19 Management have worked with Bandit for every Carrie Underwood tour, even rehearsing in Venue One, the Bandit rehearsal facility in Nashville. Bandit Lites added that tour manager Geoff Donkin, production manager Chris Coffie and stage manager Lenny Rogers are all familiar with one another from many years of working together, and that lighting designer Bud Horowitz worked with Bandit VP Michael Golden on the Play On Tour.
Contributing as lighting director, meanwhile, is Brian Jenkins, using a grandMA console for the rig that includes Vari*Lite VL 3000 Spots, VL 3500 Spots, VL 3500 Washes, Martin MAC 3000 Spots, Fresnels and ACLs, and LED alternatives including Elation Impressions, Color Kinetics Color Blasts, I Colors, PixelLines and GRN PARs.
"Bud is a consummate professional with a vision and a real team player with absolutely no ego," said Bandit's Golden. "Bud knows how to achieve his spectacular vision and relays his wishes in a manner that makes you want to do more for him. Geoff Donkin, Chris Coffie and the entire staff are true pros and make everything run as smooth as it possibly can," Golden added. "I look forward to working with them all in the future."
