TAMPA, FL – Bay Stage Lighting provided gear and crew for the New Year's Eve celebration at Timpano Chophouse & Martini Bar in Hyde Park Village. Called Rooftop Eve 2011, the event featured a 150-by-30-foot translucent tent on the restaurant's roof. Greg Utley, Bay Stage Lighting's senior lighting designer, worked with other crew members to set up just under 200 custom Color Kinetics ColorBlast 12 Powercore LEDs;  custom Liteputer 24 channel dimmers;  Source 4 Pars, Parnels and Lekos; and Studio Color 575s; along with Reel EFX Diffusion DF 50 hazers and  confetti blowers.

"The tent will have a Dancing with the Stars meets KISS feel," said Utley, shortly before the event, which began at 9 pm on New Year's Eve. "The Trans-Siberian Orchestra inside a tent," Utley added.

Multiple 8-foot sections of truss lined the rear of the tent's stage, covered from end to end with Source 4 PARs and the custom ColorBlast LEDs and topped with a Vari*Lite VL2500 Spot, used for performances by Vertical Horizon, Belinda Womack and DJ Papi.

Timpano Chophouse, Elan Event Studio, Darin Bahl Events and Ken Walter Promotions staged the event, which raised funds for the Gasparilla International Film Festival (GIFF).
