Olbrich Botanical Gardens Debuts New Donated Equipment
MADISON, WI – Blizzard Lighting of Waukesha, Wis. recently made a generous donation of equipment to the Bolz Tropical Conservatory at Olbrich Botanical Gardens in Madison, Wis. The equipment will debut Friday, June 6, at an exclusive unveiling party. All parties involved are thrilled to reveal the new 32-fixture architectural lighting system that will illuminate the trusses of the Conservatory during evening hours.
Leading the design was Dylan Jordee of Olbrich Botanical Gardens, who also managed the installation and programming of the dynamic lighting system. Jordee says of his work, “I wanted to design a system that would wow people; something that really made sense for the space.”
According to Roberta Sladky, Director of the Olbrich Botanical Gardens, not only will the new lighting system ‘wow people,’ but in addition, “It’s a great partnership that has led to this amazing project for the Bolz Conservatory, increasing its after dark presence in Madison.”
Jordee agrees, and adds, “These lights give us a great opportunity to add to the beauty of the Madison skyline, and they will energize future evening events that take place here at the Gardens.”
Blizzard’s donation includes 32 MotifTM FrescoTM outdoor-rated LED wash light fixtures as well as a LumiDeskTM TouchUlti architectural lighting controller, as well as Blizzard Lighting’s Cool Cables® brand DMX Cables.
The total retail value of the donation is nearly $12,500.
Will Komassa, President of Blizzard Lighting, saw the project’s potential immediately. It also helped that Komassa, a 2001 UW-Madison and 2005 UW Law School Graduate, instantly recalled the Bolz Conservatory from his time in Madison. “I remember biking past the Bolz when I was in school, and we are honored to be able to help bring even more beauty to an already wonderful place.”
The official unveiling party for the new lighting system will feature live music and cash bars, set to take place on Friday, June 6, after 8:00 pm at the Olbrich Botanical Gardens.
