PORT CANAVERAL, FL – Carnival Cruise Lines's 1,004-foot Carnival Dream has been equipped with Chauvet and Iluminarc LED fixtures, lighting the ship's Lido Deck and main lobby. Carnival Cruise Lines's Carnival Spirit and Carnival Miracle also feature Iluminarc lighting. On Carnival Dream, 30 Iluminarc Ilumipod 48 IP fixtures light the Lido Deck, which serves as an outdoor party area and "Seaside Theater" for outdoor movies.
The IP66-rated fixtures were chosen in part for their ability to stand up to an outdoor environment that includes heat, humidity and sea spray. The white finish allows the fixtures to blend into the ship's architecture.
"Bringing the Ilumipod 48 IP fixtures on board has added greatly to the fun atmosphere on the Lido Deck," said Graham Neave, Carnival's entertainment technical supervisor-lighting.
Carnival fleet supervisor Steve Gamblin was responsible for programming the lights to set the right ambience.
Also aboard the Carnival Dream are 10 COLORado 2 wash lights. Lighting the stage and dance floor from a difficult-to-access area, it was important for these fixtures to be high in reliability and low in maintenance requirements.
