INDIO, CA — Goldenvoice, the AEG subsidiary that organizes the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, has not released a confirmed lineup of performers at next year’s festival, which will have the same double-weekend format as this year’s event, running from April 12-14 and April 19-21, 2013. But that didn’t stop buyers from snapping up all of the $349 general admission passes and $799 VIP passes within hours of when they became available on May 17.
Camping packages, which include accommodations in teepee-styled tents set up at Lake Eldorado, were available through May 24. The general admission/VIP prices on Coachella.com were listed as $2,000 and 2,900, respectively, for a two-person tent and $3,400 and $5,200, respectively, for a four-person tent. Camping, parking and shuttle passes were also available. Sometime after the New Year, additional general admission tickets are expected to become available for purchase. By then, festival attendees will have a better idea also about who will be performing.
