NORTH BERGEN, NJ – On Thursday, Feb. 7, in honor of the one year anniversary of Whitney Houston’s death, Madame Tussauds paid tribute to the late, six time Grammy Award winning vocalist with four wax likenesses highlighting iconic moments in her life and career. Such a reveal, featuring four unique renderings, is unprecedented in Madame Tussauds history.

These figures, highlighting her 1991 Star Spangled Banner performance, 1992 role in “The Bodyguard,” early video “I Wanna Dance with Somebody,” and a 2009 promotional photo for her final album, will be housed in Madame Tussauds Washington, DC; Hollywood, CA; Las Vegas and New York City locations respectively.

To highlight this historic moment, Drape Kings created a theatrical stage backed by its Black Velour and framed with our Red Supervel event drape. The breathtaking statue reveal was achieved with a Drape Kings Kabuki Drop comprising of 10 Kabuki cells releasing additional Red Supervel Drape.  The four figures were posed in front of a custom Drape Kings high resolution, dye sublimation, digitally printed 8x20ft Step & Repeat featuring Madame Tussauds logo as well as the future home of each figure.

In addition to their work during the press reveal, Drape Kings’ in-house custom fabrication department created a drape display for her permanent exhibit at Madame Tussauds New York City location.  This display, also recreating a theatrical stage, features Wine Encore drape with a swaged valence and a custom 10 ft x 5 ft Classic LED Star Drape.

The Drape Kings family was honored to participate in this tribute.
