NEW YORK-ETC (Electronic Theatre Controls) will sponsor the 2011 Stage Lighting Super Saturday conference by supplying food for breakfast and coffee/snack breaks throughout the event. The organizers of Stage Lighting Super Saturday credited ETC for this support, saying it enables them to fund several student scholarships. ETC said its support is in line with its corporate goal to foster talent in the lighting industry.
Stage Lighting Super Saturday, set to begin at 8 a.m. on Jan. 22, will feature a dozen theatre lighting professionals, including designers Ken Billington and Richard Pilbrow. Close to 20 industry lighting manufacturers will also attend, with personnel and gear demos.
The sixth annual all-day seminar will take place at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts in New York City near Lincoln Center.
