KANSAS CITY, MO – For 50 years, USITT has been the tradeshow for students and educators in theater technology. ETC is marking the occasion with new products, student-only perks and a celebration during the show, which runs from March 31 to April 2. ETC is sponsoring the "Fifty & Nifty" kickoff on Wednesday, March 31, from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the Imperial Ballroom at the Marriott Kansas City Downtown, Muehlebach Tower.
Thursday morning when the show doors open, ETC's booth (#630) will feature the Selador Series LED fixtures, including the new Vivid and Vivid Fire and Ice, and demos for additions to ETC's dimming line, including the the SmartBar 2 and SmartModule 2 for portable dimming.
The company is also featuring the ETC Rigging line, including the Prodigy motorized-hoist systems and QuickTouch controls.
The ETC booth will also feature giveaways and promote its Student Session, set for April 1 at 6:15 p.m. at ETC's booth. The ETC Connect Lounge will be open again this year to help students with last-minute portfolio needs, including computers, scanners and printers and ETC staff.
Hard copy forms for ETC's LDI Student-Sponsorship application will also be available – graduate students and senior undergrads studying lighting, theater tech or related fields are encouraged to apply for this all-expense-paid trip to the LDI tradeshow, set for Oct. 22-24 in Las Vegas.
