DES MOINES, IA — The River Bank Bash concert set for Water Works Park in Des Moines June 27 has been canceled due to flooding.
The one-day event was expected to draw as many as 20,000 to see Eric Church, Travis Tritt and other country artists perform. It was also going to be the first big country music event at the riverfront Des Moines park since the annual Big Country Bash completed its run there from 2006 to 2011.
Organizers had been seeking an alternate site in Des Moines since the park started flooding June 24, according to local reports, but they were not able to locate a site where the ground was firm enough to safely support the large stage, lighting, video and sound production planned for the event. They canceled the event June 26.
