LAS VEGAS – Adding to their tradeshow portfolio, Green Hippo US created a platform for a series of showstoppers at LDI this year. Their 600 sq. ft. space was packed with creative solutions, from their collaboration with two cutting-edge, real-time composition and processing tools; adding Smode and Notch to Hippotizer’s SHAPE 3D Mapping and new auto alignment solution. Another big launch was the latest hardware additions to the Hippotizer range, including the Boreal DisplayPort.

More details from Green Hippo (www.green-hippo.com):

Also on the stand, the Hippotizer V4.2 BETA including Video blocks, with direct DMX control of VideoMapper tiles and Virtual Viewports, enabling large output counts working with the Datapath FX-4 range.

The Boreal DisplayPort features; 4 x DP1.2 Outputs, with full splitter support to drive up to 16 HD outputs from one machine with Datapath FX4’s. The Boreal also has Genlock and added support for passive or active adapters to DVI or HDMI, giving you even more from your system. Alongside the Boreal DisplayPort, we launch the Karst DisplayPort version as well as updated hardware for the powerhouse, Hippotizer Taiga.

It was great to see Hippotizer distributors on the stand and we hope you had a great time with us, this LDI, whether on the stand, at the Parnelli Awards or at the center bar in the Hard Rock Hotel. Now the US team are back in our new office in Glendale, CA and the UK team have returned to North London, don’t hesitate to get in touch with your Account Handlers or Marketing team to get more information about our latest developments.

SHAPE is the 3rd dimension of Hippotizer V4, offering a complete 3D projection mapping and analysis toolset. SHAPE’s rich interface and host of powerful tools including object alignment, blending, masking and warping are presented in a familiar 3D interface.

Managed over the network, SHAPE connects to Hippotizer V4 without affecting system programming for easy transition between two and three dimensions. This unique workflow allows for separation of the 3D line-up and the show programming, get up and running faster.

SHAPE also features advanced modelling tools such as vertex editing, scene import and projective texturing.

Green Hippo is excited to collaborate with two cutting edge real time composition and processing tools: Smode and Notch. These plugins add powerful, dynamic effects and generators to Hippotizer V4 that are easily modified, while improving content delivery workflow.

Innovative Workflow: Content creators generate dynamic content that is changed in real time by Hippotizer. This allows changes to be made directly from Hippotizer, saving time by avoiding a re-render of the clip.

Dynamic Generators and Effects: Parameters of an effect or generator are exposed to Hippotizer for real-time control; even the most complex composition or block are easily controlled.

Intuitive Interface: Easy to learn and use software enable users to create and edit effects for both live camera and content.

Smode and Notch are part of Hippotizer Version 4.2 to preview and demonstrate. For full functionality, a 3rd party dongle must be purchased separately.

Used on many live events worldwide: Node based editor featuring a timeline and comprehensive library of building blocks for image processing, particle systems field effects and 3D rendering.

Feature rich composition tool: Seamless 2D/3D workflow in a familiar layer based interface with timeline and an extensive list of modifiers.

The integration between Martin Professional’s innovative P3-PC System Controller and Green Hippo’s Hippotizer media servers will unlock the power of Martin’s creative video solutions in smaller shows and events. Now, you can install the P3-PC software directly onto any Green Hippo media server running the Hippotizer V4 software, effectively enabling the media server to output the P3 protocol.

The Fx4 features a DisplayPort 1.2 main input alongside two HDMI1.4 inputs offering 4k 4096x2160p at 60 fps or UHD 2160p at 30 fps respectively.  The intuitive user interface allows users to determine which input is used.

Each output monitor can take its input from any region of the input image as all of the required cropping, scaling, rotation and frame-rate conversion is handled by the Datapath Fx4 hardware. These regions can overlap to allow any output to replicate another or can be configured to support any creative splice of the source material.  This allows the support of many non-rectangular screen arrangements with uneven gaps, as well as any mix of monitor orientations.
