TORONTO — Eddy Shenker, co-chairman of Jam Industries Ltd., died June 11, 2012 after a short battle with cancer. He was 70. Shenker and Marty Golden formed Jam Industries in 1974. During his 38 years with the company, Shenker played a key role in developing it into a unique distribution network made up of 13 Canadian and U.S. divisions.
Jam Industries is now a $225 million company that employs more than 500 people. Its market segments range from musical instruments, professional audio/lighting to consumer electronics.
Shenker, who also served as president of MIAC’s board of directors, is the recipient of that association’s Lifetime Achievement Award. He is a graduate of McGill University and Concordia University.
Shenker is survived by his wife Fran, two children, Brian and Robert, and five grandchildren. Services will be held Wednesday, June 13.
