GLENVIEW, IL — Frank Luppino Jr., founder of Marketing Insights, head of marketing for Seeburg, a music and vending equipment manufacturer, and an industry journalist who covered NAMM for Billboard Magazine in the 1940s before serving as Billboard’s associate publisher, died Nov. 10, 2012 at age 90.
Luppino, a native of Watkins Glen, NY, attended Alfred University before serving in the Naval Air Transport in Paris, Morocco and England during World War II. He was a longtime member of the Joseph M. Sesterhenn Post 166 American Legion chapter in Glenview and an active participant in similar organizations.
Luppino was known for a love of Dixieland jazz music, railroad memorabilia, public television, swimming and a positive approach to life. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Bjorg V. Luppino; his daughter, Elizabeth F. Daly; his son Frank (Katherine) Luppino III; a sister, Rosemarie Kleinspehn; four grandchildren and two nieces.
