ROME — Mario De Sisti, a lighting designer who founded the De Sisti Lighting in early 1982, died Oct. 31, 2014. Survivors include sons Fabio and Sergio De Sisti, who plan to continue the company’s legacy of innovation with lighting and rigging product technologies, building on past successes that have advanced flicker-free lighting for television applications and such rigging innovations as motorized self-climbing hoists. Funeral services were held in Rome on Nov. 3, 2014.

“The lighting industry has lost a true pioneer, inventor, and true ambassador. There was no one more charismatic or passionate about his family, business or the industry.
“Mario was highly dedicated and inhaled lighting with every breath. His enthusiasm and vigor was contagious.
“Mario traveled the World and considered most of his friends as if they were family. There was no one with a bigger heart and higher level of excitement and dedication to the lighting industry.
“The entire De Sisti Organization expresses its immense gratitude and admiration to Mario, for his genius contribution and unrestful dedication to achieve the prestigious results upon always innovative products and solutions, for the worldwide professional lighting industry.
“We will all miss you Mario….there are not known words to us, good enough to express how much we will miss you.”

“My childhood dream is to see the De Sisti company go on, expanding and increasing what I started in 1982. I wish my sons Fabio and Sergio will carry on all the projects, the thoughts, the dreams that we made for a long, long time. I’m so proud to say that they’ll give new strength and ideas to the company in so many ways.”
