LOS ANGELES — Wayne Forman, owner of Waynos Catering, died April 7 after a battle with cancer of the kidney. He was 52. Waynos Catering supported live concert tours for Red Hot Chili Peppers (RHCP), Pearl Jam, Def Leppard, REM and Eric Clapton, among other artists, and also provided on-location meals for crews filming Scent of a Woman, What’s Eating Gilbert Grape, Meet Joe Black and Unfaithful.
Forman’s catering career began at Pacific Amphitheatre in Costa Mesa, CA from 1985-1990. Waynos Catering handled the Silva Hewitt concerts at the Hollywood Bowl from 1994 to 2010, and served as the caterer at Gibson Amphitheatre at Universal CityWalk since 1996. The company also provided catering for special events including the KROQ Weenie Roast at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Irvine, CA and the X Games in Los Angeles.
Forman is survived by his mother, Linda Forman; sister, Cindy Roberts; son, Sam Forman; and niece, Carlee Roberts.
