MIAMI BEACH – Visual Formula used Chauvet fixtures for top DJs including Armin Van Buuren at the sixth annual IndepenDANCE Pool and Beach Party on July 4 at the Doubletree Surfcomber Hotel Miami-South Beach. The 12-hour show also featured Sander Kleinenberg and Avicci and local DJs Rony Seikaly, Patrick M, Louis Puig, Lazardi and Riotgear.
Nick Assunto, CEO of Visual Formula, specified LED-fitted, multicolored COLORado 3P, COLORado 1 TOUR, COLORado Batten 72 TOUR and COLORado 1 and COLORado 1 VW (with various shades of white) for the main stage, VIP areas, truss warming, backlighting and to illuminate the crowd.
The COLORado 3P, COLORado 1 VW and COLORado 1 have an IP66 rating, which Assunto deemed essential "for the outdoor conditions we were dealing with." He added that he "fell in love" with the newer COLORado 1 Tour lights. "There is no question, after this event we are definitely going to increase our inventory of the COLORado 1 TOURs," he said.
To complement the wash lights and add rhythm to the presentation, Assunto used Chauvet moving yokes Q-Spot 575 fixtures.
Assunto also based his lighting choice on affordability. "In an outdoor event especially, it is essential to get the maximum output for your budget. With Chauvet the same investment will give you much more fixtures."
Despite drizzling rain during most of the day, the event was a success. "The fixtures performed flawlessly," Assunto said.
