INDIANAPOLIS — Mid-America Sound Corporation, owner of the staging structure that fell in high winds at the Indianapolis State Fair on Aug. 13, 2011, has asked a superior court judge to order Sugarland and its ownership company, Lucky Star Inc., to show up for scheduled depositions next week, according to published reports.

The staging company and band are defendants in lawsuits stemming from the collapse, which killed seven and injured 58.

Court documents filed March 16 by Mid-America Sound say that while Sugarland and Lucky Star are scheduled to give depositions next week, they have not confirmed that they will appear, and haven’t suggested alternative dates.

Mid-America has requested that Marion Superior Court Judge Theodore Sosin issue a court order to the band members and its ownership company to appear and provide information about their insurance coverage and their ability to pay settlements.

Sosin set a hearing on Mid-America’s request for Friday, March 23.
