EL PASO, TX – Singer/songwriter Khalid, whose family moved to El Paso when he was in high school, announced plans for a benefit concert for the victims of the Aug. 3 mass shooting at a Walmart store there that killed 22 and injured 24.
Titled “A Night for Suncity,” the event is expected to take place at El Paso’s Don Haskins arena, according to the website, www.thegreatkhalidfoundation.org.
“Proceeds from the concert will directly benefit the victims of the horrific act of gun violence that the El Paso Community recently experienced,” the website noted.
Khalid announced the foundation and website in May as a way to support music and fine arts and benefit communities in need.
