WAPPINGERS FALLS, NY — Lighting & Electronics, Inc. (L&E), which has served the entertainment industry since 1960, announced to its dealers its plan to close its doors. The company will be scaling back its operations over the next 60 to 90 days and announced plans to sell its clamp business, including its Get-A-Grip, HangTuff and PipeDream products, to another company.
“We know we are making the right decision at the right time with few regrets,” noted John V. Fedigan, president, and Robert V. Partridge, vice president, in the Sept. 10 letter to its dealers.
“Our primary objective is to make a professional exit from the entertainment industry family specifically and from the business community generally,” the letter continued. “L&E has always tried to treat its customers and vendors as friends who are working toward a common business goal. During this time, we hope to maintain those same relationships with you.”
L&E also announced plans to sell its metal manufacturing production equipment in Wappingers Falls, NY over the next several months, and to sell its finished goods inventory at near cost to its dealers for the remainder of September, on a first-come, first-serve basis.
